For People Who Are Not Sure about How to Apply Colognes

Ever thought about the right way to apply colognes? Many guys just spray on their scent with little thought. This carelessness can ruin the intended effect, especially if he applies too much. Follow these steps to get the most out of your cologne:
1) Buy the right cologne for you. Make sure to sample each candidate by applying it directly to your body. Do not simply buy a cologne based on a recommendation or what smells good on someone else - what matters is how each fragrance smells on you.

2) Do not use too much cologne. This is the cardinal rule. Too much of a good thing is bad. If you apply any fragrance excessively, you may overpower your date or friends, especially those sensitive to strong odors. Instead of drawing people close, you will push them away - anything to avoid your pungent presence. A rule of thumb: If someone can smell your scent while standing at a conversational distance, you are wearing too much.

3) Do not apply the cologne to your clothes. Not only could you stain them, but you also eliminate the interactions between the cologne, body heat, and body chemistry that produce your personal scent.

4) Spray the cologne directly on your chest or wrists. If you want to apply it to your neck or ears, spray some in your hand and wipe those areas. One squirt is usually enough. If your cologne does not come with a sprayer, hold your finger over the opening and turn the bottle over. Apply with a few fingers to each area.

5) Reapply your cologne sparingly. Those of high quality should last for an entire evening.

TIPS AND HINTS
*Avoid putting any fragrances on your face, as they may irritate your skin.
*You will eventually be unable to smell your own scent as your nose gets used to it. Don't reapply under the assumption that your scent has faded.
*Be careful of scent interactions with other products you may be using. Aftershaves, lotions, or shampoos all have their own odors. Layering scents can be pleasant if the products all come from an identical brand.
