Sweet potato cookies are a spin-off from the traditional sweet potato pie. These make a great after-school snack, and the best part is that even kids who hate vegetables will eat them. They may not be as healthy as eating boiled or mashed sweet potatoes, but they contain some of the vitamins that kids need. Here is a sweet potato cookie recipe for you to try.

A Simple Guide to Eating Healthy that Anyone Can Live By
What we eat will, to a great extent, determine our health. The human body requires more than just calories. Because the body is a living machine it requires certain raw materials in order to build a quality product. We would not think of running a car with no oil, or putting sugar in the gas tank, knowing that these activities would damage the car. In a similar way, we can not ignore the quality of the items that we eat, or leave out important components that our bodies need.

I am in the Mood for Some Good Old Fashioned Country Love Songs
The Nostalgia For Old Country Love Songs
Anyone who has ever crooned "Blue Moon of Kentucky" or "Wildwood Flower" may be drawn back to simple life in the country. Old Country Love Songs like "In The Pines" evoke a longing for a lost or unrequited love whether of another or the place where one's heart returns again and again. Country people snuggled close to each other as they danced to "Tennessee Waltz" or sashayed around the floor to "Jole Blon".

Let Me Tell You About Wine and Cheese Clubs
The popularity of the dozens of “Of the Month Clubs” that exist may be the reason that some of these clubs seem to be spawning offshoots and variations of themselves. Probably one of the oldest of these types of clubs is the wine of the month. These, along with cheese of the month clubs may be among the most popular. This is likely the reason that some companies that offer these club memberships are combining the two into wine and cheese of the month clubs.

A Tutorial on How to Improve Your Singing Voice
Improving your singing voice is something that anyone can do with a bit of time and practice. Singing comes naturally for some people, yet others seem to struggle with carrying a tune. For those who sing well, though, maintaining a good singing voice does not happen without practice. The Best-smelling Cologne for Men, In My Opinion
The Best Smelling Men’s Cologne
Men’s cologne can have a tremendous effect on the opposite sex. The science of smell has become a very lucrative business. Fragrances are now categorized, analyzed, and altered by the addition of pheromones. Choosing the right aftershave or body splash involves a bit of science, a bit of self-knowledge, and a bit of common sense. While there are chemical differences between essential oils and deodorant sprays, most men tend to describe all personal fragrance as cologne. Finding the best smelling men’s cologne is a matter of understanding the power of science, and using it wisely to make the best choice.

I Admit It . . . I'm a Materialist
I like to think that I'm not a very materialistic person. If you read through my site, it may not seem like I'm very attached to "stuff." I don't make a ton of money, but I'm happy with my work. In other words . . . I'm a content person that probably pretends he's not attached to material possessions.

Four Quick Vegetarian Dinners
My wife and I are both still fully employed, even though we're getting very close to retirement age. Because of our busy lifestyles, we don't always have a lot of time to put together dinner. As a teacher, I'm often late due to faculty meetings, participation in extra-curricular activities, and staying behind to clean up my room and finish grading papers and exams. Since I do most of the cooking, I'm always on the lookout for a quick vegetarian supper that my wife and I will both enjoy.

The Health Benefits of Vegetarianism
This is one of my favorite topics. No, I'm not one of those vegetarians who goes around telling other people that they shouldn't eat meat. But I will defend my veggie lifestyle by testifying to the health benefits of eating less meat.

Meat Relapses
When people find out that I'm a vegetarian, one of the questions they get around to asking goes something like this: "But don't you miss meat?" The honest answer to that question is yes; I do miss the rare steaks, barbecued ribs, and pot roast of my old diet. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I have, from time to time, longed for things like pork chops, beef-on-toast, and ceviche.

My Favorite Vegetarian Breakfasts
Okay, I'll admit it. My absolute all-time favorite vegetarian breakfast is a box full of donuts and a giant mug of strong black coffee. I rarely enjoy this particular calorie-and-sugar fest, mostly because I don't want to go back to high blood pressure, arrhythmia, and unhealthy eating. But every once in a while, my wife will pick me up a donut or two and I'll enjoy a few minutes of blissful breakfast snacking.

Easy Meat Substitutes
The first year of my vegetarian diet was tough, I'll admit that right up front. I had no idea how to properly prepare meals that contained enough protein, iron, and other nutrients. I ate a lot of salads and carbs. Though I eventually figured out that you can balance your diet to include non-meat products and still get all the protein your body requires, I depended heavily on meat substitute products in those first twelve months of my new diet.

Types of Vegetarian Diets
Not all vegetarians follow the same diet plan. In fact, if you got ten people who call themselves vegetarians in the same room together, you'd likely find out that they each have their own definition of the word and probably each have their own unique veggie diet.

Why I Became a Vegetarian
Happy New Year!
We're just an hour into 2013, and I'm so anxious to get my blog up and running that I'm staying up extra late to write my first post. It's a topic near and dear to my heart - why I removed all meat from my diet about ten years ago. When people find out I'm a vegetarian, they always want to know why I chose this lifestyle. I figure we should get this question out of the way first.
